Guth [gʊd] times
From the first manual wine pump to an all-round supplier of high-quality stainless steel fittings for winegrowers, brewers and beverage producers.
On 31 August 1861 Heinrich Guth founded the Wilhelm Guth KG Kellereimaschinenfabrik in Neustadt an der Haardt. At this time, the 33-year-old mechanic was already working on an innovation to make work easier for winegrowers and coopers: the first manual wine pump. This was the first success of the innovative company, which today continues under the name Guth Ventiltechnik GmbH.
At the end of the 19th century Wilhelm Guth took over the management of the company. The founder's son, who adopted the company's name, managed relocations and new buildings. In 1906 he also initiated the expansion of the metal foundry. Heinrich Guth, grandson of the founder and named after his grandfather, took over the company in 1917. He focused on production and set up the Installation division.
From 1936, the company was managed by Philipp Winter, who had sole power of attorney and was owned by Emmy Guth. During this time, the number of employees doubled and the technical equipment was modernized. During the turmoil of the Second World War, Guth also had difficulties maintaining the business. Half of the output volume was used for turned parts in the armaments factories. A literally hard blow hit the company towards the end of the war. The factory site was under artillery fire and was hit by bombs. Numerous machines and buildings were damaged or destroyed. Shortly after the war, the demand for high-quality fittings increased rapidly again. Several new developments helped the company to new successes in times of the economic miracle.
At the end of 1981 the family business was sold to Rolf Straßburger. The latter further expanded the service portfolio. This resulted in the former Guth Ventiltechnik GmbH & Co. KG.
From February 2014 to August 2015, the company was managed by various managing directors. During this turbulent period we also had to file for bankruptcy.
The takeover of the company by KIESELMANN GmbH in November 2015 and its integration into the KIESELMANN FLUID PROCESS Group heralded a new era. Guth Ventiltechnik GmbH has been on a strong growth course since belonging to the company merger. Workforce and order numbers are growing continuously and pave the way to new business highlights.
We look forward to showing you, too, that it is right to be called: Guth is better!
